National Professional Qualifications (NPQs)
It is widely recognised that effective leadership creates the right conditions for all pupils to achieve. National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) have been developed to secure better outcomes for all learners, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
NPQs have been created to support leaders to lead a team, develop leadership skills across a school, enhance strategic management capabilities, improve the quality of educational provision and managing resources to achieve leadership goals. These qualifications relate to leadership at different levels, and they are broken down into Middle Leadership, Senior Leadership, Headship and Executive Leadership.
National Professional Qualifications are delivered through the Worcestershire Global Leadership Academy (WGLA), a partnership between Babcock Education and the Worcestershire Teaching Schools.
The WGLA is working in partnership with the University of Worcester to deliver final assessment at the completion of either NPQML, NPQSL or NPQH programmes. The NPQs will carry ‘Recognition of Prior Learning’ (RPL) credits that can be put towards a masters programme.
Funding may be available for leaders working in areas of high deprivation, please enquire for more information.
