Early Years

The Early Years team works with early years and childcare settings* in Worcestershire to ensure all children access high quality early years education and care to support individual children to achieve their maximum potential in learning and development.

Our Aims

  • Children will get better results at the end of the Foundation Stage
  • Take up of 2 year old funding will increase to at least national/statistical neighbour level
  • Take up of Early Years Pupil Premium reaches at least national levels of take-up
  • Increased number of early years and childcare provision rated good or outstanding by Ofsted (staying above national average)
  • Settings which are causing concern (including safeguarding) are being supported and making improvements


What we offer

Worcestershire County Council has commissioned Babcock Prime Early Years Team to fulfil local authority statutory duties.

  • To secure sufficient childcare for working parents
  • To set out the type and amount of free provision and the children who benefit from it
  • To secure early years provision free of charge
  • Provide information, advice and training to childcare providers

In addition to the statutory offer, bespoke time-based consultancy support can be purchased as part of our traded service offer.
